Pérez: Tyre degradation hurting race pace

– Sergio Pérez believes tyre degradation is the reason why Force India cannot currently match the likes of rivals Toro Rosso and Williams in pure race pace.Pérez qualified ninth and finished seventh in Spain, but was comfortably beaten by Carlos Sainz Jr. and Valtteri Bottas, and only narrowly kept Felipe Massa at bay, despite the Brazilian starting from a lowly 18th.Pérez is nonetheless optimistic that the upgrade package which was introduced on the VJM09 in Spain will be better exploited at this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix."I think we did a good step on the car in Barcelona," he said."We are still quite far in race pace but we learned a lot from that spec, but in...
