Magnussen: Retiring drivers may open F1 doors

Former McLaren driver Kevin Magnussen believes that the retirement of several current Formula One drivers may present a chance to return to the sport. The Dane had an impressive first year in Formula One, scoring a podium on his debut at the 2014 Australian Grand Prix, but was dropped from the McLaren team at the end of this year after being demoted to reserve driver for 2015. With the 23-year-old very unlikely to be in Formula One in 2016, Magnussen has been forced to look elsewhere for a drive, with DTM rumoured to be an option.
