Sainz seventh despite starting 20th and timed penalty

Carlos Sainz Jnr was able to give Toro Rosso a double points finished mark his best result in Formula One despite a timed penalty in a “mad, amazing race!' Sainz finished the race sixth, however was handed a five second penalty during the race for speeding in the pit lane, demoting the young Spaniard to seventh. To make the his drive more impressive though in the changeable conditions was he start from the back of the grid in 20th position. Sainz has achieved the best result of his career in Grand Prix racing to date, with seventh position, beating his previous best result of eighth place in Malaysia at the start of the season.
