Sainz frustrated by 'rookie error'

Red Bull/Getty Images Carlos Sainz Jr. accepted that it was a rookie error which led to him colliding with the bollard at the entry to the pit lane during the Japanese Grand Prix. Sainz was running in the top 10 but clipped the bollard and damaged his front wing, prompting a slow stop which cost him vital time. Sainz was able to claim the final point for 10th position, though finished behind Toro Rosso team-mate Max Verstappen.
