Hamilton among drivers given penalty points

Mercedes AMG Petronas Lewis Hamilton was among a number of drivers given penalty points for incidents which took place during the Hungarian Grand Prix. Hamilton was given two penalty points after he collided with Daniel Ricciardo at Turn 1, the first of his Formula 1 career. Daniil Kvyat was given two penalty points for leaving the track and gaining a position on Hamilton in doing so; Kvyat's sanction is also his first for the 12 month period. Max Verstappen was deemed to have failed to stay above the required time set by the FIA ECU during the deployment of the Safety Car, for which he was given three penalty points, bringing his season total to five.
