Ecclestone Refutes £1bn UK Tax Bill
Whilst relaxing in his motorhome in the Monaco paddock, F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone explained his decision to fight the UK £1 billion tax bill that the long running investigation has just landed him after a UK court decision on Thursday 21st May. As Formula Spy have previously reported, despite having reached an agreement with the UK tax authorities in 2008, the HMRC were again investigating the tax affairs of Bernie and the family ‘Bambino' Trust. This was following information that came to light during the various court cases he has faced with regards both bribery in Germany and loss of revenue for selling the F1 business in the UK over the past 18 months.
