Hamilton leads Verstappen and Ricciardo – FP1 Report
Lewis Hamilton has taken top spot in the opening session of practice for this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix. The championship leader was 0.1 seconds clear of the rapid Toro Rosso of Max Verstappen, while Red Bull stable-mate Daniel Ricciardo took 3rd place. With heavy rain hitting the Monaco region overnight, the early start of track action meant that the drivers peeled out onto the Monte Carlo circuit with intermediates bolted on to get an initial feel for the track. While the surface could hardly be described as damp, there was no sense to any risk taking with the barriers so close, and the likes of Ericsson, Raikkonen, Sainz & the Mercs emerged for installation laps before quickly...
