Button penalised for Maldonado clash

– Jenson Button has been given a five-second time penalty and two penalty points for his collision with Pastor Maldonado in China.The McLaren-Honda driver clipped the rear of his Lotus rival at Turn 1 in the closing stages of the race, resulting in both drivers running wide.Button went on to finish the race in 13th position, behind team-mate Fernando Alonso, while Maldonado retired with a suspected brake issue.Having assessed the footage, stewards handed Button the time penalty, which drops him to 14th, behind Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz Jr."The driver of car 22 [Button] admitted that he had made a mistake and had caused a collision with car 13 [Maldonado] in Turn 1," read a...
