Dennis: Alonso signed a little while ago, Button negotiations took a long time

Ron Dennis, McLaren chairman and CEO, firmly believes the Woking-based outfit has the strongest driver line-up possible for the 2015 F1 season. On Thursday morning it was officially announced that Fernando Alonso will return to McLaren – as the team rekindles its iconic partnership with Honda – for next year, racing alongside Jenson Button. Dennis confirmed that Alonso was signed a 'little while ago', but the team opted to make the announcement after re-signing Button, and that took 'quite a long time'.
