Kobayashi gets full weekend for home race

Caterham has announced that Kamui Kobayashi will complete the whole Japanese Grand Prix weekend, with Roberto Merhi replacing Marcus Ericsson for FP1. Having been dropped for the Belgian Grand Prix, Kobayashi returned in Monza but had to sit out the first practice session as Merhi made his F1 debut. However, after a full Singapore Grand Prix weekend Kobayashi will again get maximum track time at Suzuka and he says his home race will be a very special occasion. “I'm very excited to be back in front of all my Japanese fans and racing at Suzuka; I've been waiting for this race for over a year," Kobayashi said.
