New Vettel deal 'a formality'
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has described Sebastian Vettel's contract extension as "a formality". Vettel extended his contract with the team for a further year until the end of 2015 on Tuesday, ending speculation he could join Ferrari in the immediate future. While Horner was keen to talk up the significance of Vettel's commitment he said the extension was not the result of long negotiations. "It was more of a formality than anything else," Horner told Sporting Life. "We have a long-term agreement with Sebastian, and it was just perfect timing for both sides to extend for another year."
