New Pirellis won't race in Britain

Pirelli will not race its new rear tyres at the British Grand Prix as planned after wet weather on Friday in Canada limited the teams' testing mileage on the new structure. Pirelli originally planned to introduce the tyre in Montreal but could not get unanimous agreement from all the teams and so agreed to supply the new tyres in practice before intending to roll out a full introduction at Silverstone. The new tyre features a Kevlar belt rather than a steel one and is designed to reduce the risk of delamination, but a lower operating temperature means it could also have an impact on performance for some teams.
