A selection of the updates taken by the teams to the Circuit de Catalunya Red Bull have been refining their package since the start of the season in an effort to further extract performance. A critical area this season is managing the flow in front of and to the side of the rear wheel. If this airflow is not managed, ‘Tyre Squirt' impinges on the Diffuser to reduce it's effectiveness. (‘Tyre Squirt' is when the airflow passing toward the rear wheel is pushed laterally into the Diffuser) Having already increased the Vertical Floor Strakes on the floor of the RB9 to 2, the team added a slot in the floor ahead of the rear wheel in Barcelona to further aid in controlling this...
