Wolff, a 41-year-old Austrian businessman and entrepreneur, has been charged since January with ensuring Mercedes succeed in F1 after three years of painful failure, and the still-bare walls and almost-empty desk make it clear he is moving on. He refers to his office on second floor of the team's base in Brackley, Northamptonshire, as 'the ivory tower'.
