Caterham Confirm Van der Garde as 2013 Race Driver

Caterham have today announced that Giedo Van Der Garde will partner Charles Pic at the team in 2013. The Dutchman, who scored six podiums and two race wins with Caterham Racing in the 2012 GP2 championship, had six FP1 outings with the team last season. The announcement also confirms that there is no place at the team – and probably nowhere on the F1 grid – for Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov, who were with the team in 2012. “Everyone in the team is delighted that we can finally confirm that Giedo will be racing for us in the 2013 FIA Formula One World Championship,' said Cyril Abiteboul, the Caterham team principal.
