Russell wins Austrian Grand Prix, fighting off Verstapppen challenge
F1 Grand Prix, GP Austria, Red Bull Ring Mercedes' George Russell has won the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring. Despite starting from pole, Russell had a tough day in the office with Verstappen posing a major challenge, surely helped by Red Bull's car updates. Kimi Antonelli finished a very close third. When the lights went out under the sunny Austrian skies, everybody seemed to have had a clean getaway with George Russell maintaining the lead after immediately cutting across the track to prevent Leclerc from getting the advantage before Turn 1.
