Charles Leclerc has finished a rather disappointing race in Spain. After finishing in P19 in qualifying and starting from the pit lane, the Monegasque driver finished the race just outside of the points in P11 as he could not overtake Pierre Gasly in the final lap. His teammate, Carlos Sainz finished the race in fifth place.

The Ferrari driver has struggled once more with the tyre temperatures for the second day in a row. “Well, temperature came, but also the graining came more than the temperature, so it was just endless teary-eyed crazy,” he said at the post-race press moment where GPblog is present.

“I think where we really need to put all our focus is to try and be more often at the peak of our tyres and know how to manage them better. Two or three degrees makes a huge difference on balance, and this weekend we've been struggling getting completely outside the window or in the window and be happy with the car, so there will be a lot of work on that,” Leclerc pointed out the weak spot of his car and underlined what they need to improve on the future.

The five-time race winner also pointed out that they have not found yet on Saturday. “Obviously, they just had time to dismount all the rear parts of the car and  change it for today, then they will analyse what went wrong. The feeling was very different today, but we are stressed.”

“For some reason we seem to never really get in the right window of the tyre, and when we do, it's a bit of a surprise to us, so there's a lot of work to do,” Leclerc added.
