Sergio Perez believes Red Bull Racing will have to be better than their performance in the 2022 Formula 1 season. Last year, Red Bull won both championships, but Perez missed out on second-place in the final race of the season.

Perez will start his third season at Red Bull in 2023 and the team launched the new RB19 which he will drive. The Mexican has now become well accustomed to the team, and boss Christian Horner insists it's the best line-up they've ever had at Red Bull. Perez is keen to improve despite near perfect results for the team in 2022.

Tough to progress

"It's tricky progressing. The competition is getting better. We have to keep progressing. Have to be better than last year, that will be really difficult. But as a team, we are giving everything. It's been a busy winter for all of us so we're looking forward to the start of the season," Perez said during the Red Bull livery launch on Friday in New York.

Pre-season testing takes place later this month in Bahrain, with then just one week until lights go out for the first Grand Prix of the season on the 5th March. Perez explains what he is going to be focusing on in February.

"For now, it's about getting up to a good physical level before the season starts. It's a very short time that we get in the car, just a day and a half each before the season starts. So it's really how much you can do now, and the work you do with the engineers for now. That's the key," Perez said.

We will see the RB19 on track for the first time on the 23rd February.
