F1 Power Rankings | Verstappen and Leclerc make strong impression

According to the judges of the Formula 1 Power RankingsMax Verstappen has impressed the most so far. The Dutchman leads the rankings with an average score of 8.8. Title rival Charles Leclerc follows in second place with a score of 8.3.

The judges have the following to say about Verstappen: "Six more Grand Prix wins and he'll have broken the record for the most in a season. Our judges are suitably impressed." Leclerc is also impressing despite his large gap in the drivers' championship. "Although it hasn't been the easiest season for Leclerc, he's impressed our judges and garnered a score just below that of his rival."

Mercedes drivers score big points

Teammates Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez are in a shared seventh place with an average score of 7.3. Both drivers have finished behind their teammates on many occasions. The Mercedes drivers have also impressed the judges in the first half of the season. George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are on P3 and P4. Russell receives an average score of an 8, while the seven-time world champion follows with a 7.9.

"Russell has had a terrific start to life as a full-time Mercedes works driver. Hamilton has scored just below Russell so far, but he's now on a roll and has taken five consecutive podiums including P2 in both France and Hungary. His Power Rankings score is on the rise." Other drivers who have made the top ten include Lando Norris (7.7), Fernando Alonso (7.5), Esteban Ocon (7.1) and lastly Kevin Magnussen (7.0).
