Sergio Perez is currently enjoying a well-deserved holiday, but in a few weeks time the next Grand Prix is already on the programme. In conversation with the Official website of Red Bull Racing the Mexican looks ahead to the second half of the season.

The driver can look back on a reasonably successful first half of the year. Whereas last season he was criticised for lagging behind his teammate Max Verstappen, this year he is doing much better. With 173 points he is in third place.

However, Perez knows all too well that things need to improve on his part, although he is first in need of a holiday. "I’m looking forward to some rest," he says. "It’s been an intense season, but you can only disconnect for a week or so and then back into it. We’ve got a lot of work to do because the second half of the season is going to be very intense. We have to keep delivering."

The next GP, which takes place in Belgium, is already scheduled for the end of August. Then there are two more race weekends in quick succession. In early September it is the turn of the Netherlands, while a week later the Monza circuit is the scene of the Formula 1 battle.

For Perez, there are a number of circuits that stand out. "I’m looking forward to going back to Japan after not being there for three seasons. I’m also looking forward to Austin and Mexico. And Zandvoort – The Dutch fans are amazing."
