Mercedes seem to have moved another step closer to Ferrari and Red Bull Racing after an excellent weekend in France when we talk about the car's performance. It ensures that the German team gets an almost perfect score on its report. Ferrari, on the other hand, should forget about the French GP very soon.

Red Bull Racing - 8

Max Verstappen ensured Red Bull took another victory trophy back to Milton Keynes. The second car, of Sergio Perez, did not make the podium. A shame, because with a Ferrari coming from behind and Charles Leclerc crashing out, more points could have been scored and the lead could have been even bigger.

Ferrari - 3.5

Ferrari had another weekend to forget. In qualifying it looked great. Carlos Sainz already knew he had to start from the back, but he was used to give teammate Leclerc a tow in order to score pole. Leclerc made a bad mistake and ended his race in the tyre pile. Sainz was sent off unsafely from his pit box and also received instructions from his engineer at awkward moments. Not a good weekend for the Scuderia.

Mercedes - 10

Mercedes almost managed to get the most out of the French Grand Prix weekend. It took some help from the retirement of Charles Leclerc, but a second and third place finish is absolutely deserved after a flawless weekend. The only thing missing was a victory.

Alpine - 8.5

Alpine is well on its way to finishing fourth in the Constructors' Championship. A sixth and eighth place finish at home is a good result and they have passed McLaren in the teams' standings.

McLaren - 7.5

Lando Norris got everything out of the MCL36 on Saturday and surprised friend and foe with a P5 on Saturday. That speed was unfortunately not carried over to Sunday. Alpine was faster overall and also scored more points.

Alfa Romeo - 4.5

After an excellent start of the season, the first half of Alfa Romeo's season seems to have ended disappointingly. For the third time in a row no points were scored in France. In both qualifying and the race, Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou were not fast enough.

Haas F1 - 4.5

With Mick Schumacher starting from P17 and Kevin Magnussen from P20, the French GP looked set to be a drama beforehand. Schumacher finished fifteenth and last of the finished drivers (partly due to Zhou's tap), while Magnussen crashed out after 37 laps with damage.

AlphaTauri - 4.5

Pierre Gasly didn't fare well in his home race, bringing down AlphaTauri's rating significantly. Yuki Tsunoda was unlucky to have his race finished early, especially after Ocon's tap on the first lap.

Aston Martin - 6.5

Aston Martin is certainly not at the level it wants to be at yet, but it did get a point from Lance Stroll. Sebastian Vettel narrowly missed out on these points with an eleventh place. Plenty of positives to take back to Britain.

Williams - 5.5

Williams, meanwhile, has been waiting for a point for seven races. The team is still too far behind the rest of the field. A retirement of Nicholas Latifi and the thirteenth position of Albon are simply not enough.
