Alpine and AlphaTauri have confirmed the launch date for their new cars with which the Enstone- and Faenza-based teams are set to compete in the 2022 F1 season.

Alpine will pull the covers off the new car on February 21, just two days before pre-season testing kicks off at Barcelona. The car which is set to be called the A522 will be raced by Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon with the team eager to continue its endeavour in Formula One with an unchanged driver line-up.

AlphaTauri’s new machine will break cover on February 14. The car will be piloted by Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda for the second consecutive season.

The pre-season testing will include two sessions this year. The first outing is a lower key, pre-testing track session at Barcelona on February 23-25, allowing the teams to shake down their all-new-for-'22 cars for the first time in the same place. Fans will be not allowed to attend this shake-down test.

The Official Pre-Season Test will then take place in Bahrain on March 10-12, ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix on the weekend of March 18-20. Fans will be in attendance, while there will also be live TV coverage and timing.
