Lewis Hamilton looks back on the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix still very disappointed. The Briton lost the world title to Max Verstappen in the last round, after which he didn't show up in the media anymore. According to Stoffel Vandoorne we will see the seven times world champion back on track in March.

The Mercedes driver went into the GP in a tie with Verstappen. The German team then dominated the race, making it almost impossible for Verstappen to win. However, at the end of the race, Nicholas Latifi hit the wall hard. It resulted in a yellow flag a few laps before the end.

As there was a possibility that the season would end behind the safety car and the race control wanted to avoid this, they decided to race one more lap. This gave Verstappen the opportunity to grab the world title on fresher and faster tyres than Hamilton. This happened and Hamilton was angry afterwards about the decisions taken.

Vandoorne expects Hamilton to continue

Team boss Toto Wolff repeatedly hinted that Hamilton might be thinking of quitting, but Vandoorne does not expect that. "I think he must feel very bad to have lost in the last lap like that," the reserve driver told Rtbf.be. "But he is still so keen to push himself and do better, that I am sure he will use all these events as motivation to come back even stronger."
