Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have two more Grands Prix to fight it out over which driver will take the world title this season. Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez have the important task of helping their teammate. Jacques Villeneuve expects Perez to be more helpful than the Finn.

While Perez knows he will remain part of the Red Bull Racing team next season, Bottas' situation is different. The teammate of Lewis Hamilton signed a contract with Alfa Romeo this year that will take effect at the beginning of next year. According to Villeneuve, that could make the difference in the world championship.

"Although Bottas helped Lewis quite a bit in Hungary when he took out the Red Bulls at the start, this year you can see the difference between him and Hamilton," he explained in a conversation with La Gazetta dello Sport. "We knew Perez was not at Verstappen's level, but it took a long time for him to get to the point where he could help Max. He has improved recently."

Perez exudes calm and relaxation

Aside from the fact that Perez is better than he was at the start of the season, he also has the personal calm to perform. "Also because he has a contract for next year, while Bottas is leaving. Valtteri is focused on getting a good result for himself. He is not out to help the team."
