Formula 1 can be admired for a few more races on Ziggo Sport because next year the broadcasting rights are in the hands of Viaplay. Robert Doornbos seems to become one of the regular analysts. Possibly he will be joined by David Coulthard, according to the Scot.

Viaplay hopes to come out with more news about next year's programming in a couple of weeks. With Amber Brantsen, who will be presenting the show in the studio next season, the company already showed that they want to go in a different direction. The name of Coulthard however is even more surprising.

The former Formula 1 driver is an authority in the car world. In conversation with Formule1.nl Coulthard admits that he will soon talk to the Dutch branch of Viaplay about a role in the broadcasts. "The chance exists indeed that I will do something. We will probably start talking about that soon", says Coulthard.

Viaplay wants to change things

The sports channel wants to do things completely different in the Netherlands and uses Sky Sports as a yardstick. It means that the analysts will not only report Formula 1 in the Netherlands from the studio but that more will happen on the circuit itself. We have to wait and see what the role of Coulthard will be.
