The drivers were critical of the track conditions after the United States Grand Prix last weekend. Esteban Ocon, among others, was not too pleased with the circuit, as he revealed during an interview with Motorsport.com.

During the free practices on Friday and Saturday, it became clear that the cars had a hard time in America. Although the organisation tried to improve the track conditions, they couldn't satisfy the drivers. The teams even had to work on the set-up of the car.

"It's on the edge," Ocon told us as a result. "For reliability this was already link and if we come back next year and it's even worse, there will be real problems with the cars. It's not a problem if you drive slowly, but as soon as you build up the speed. Then you get ticks on the floor, on the suspension, the engineers see red lights and raise the alarm. We don't want that. I think for next year there needs to be some work on the track."

Ocon was even one of the victims of the asphalt. Partly due to the track conditions, he had to retire early during the race, leaving him empty-handed at the end of the weekend.
