Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are very evenly matched this season. After two circuits where Mercedes normally score big points, the difference between the two is currently just two points in favour of the Brit, with a host of circuits coming up where Red Bull Racing usually performs well. It will be a close call right to the end.

Immune to psychological games

Apart from the fact that both title rivals are unprecedentedly fast and stand out from the current field, the two have little in common, as David Coulthard can see. At ServusTV the former driver says: "Max is withdrawn when he's notinvolved in Formula 1. Lewis is extroverted, but when they're on the track, it's all about winning."

According to Coulthard, one of the advantages Verstappen has over drivers who previously competed with Hamilton for the title is the peace of mind: "With his concentration and dedication, Verstappen seems to be free in his mind. He is immune to Hamilton's psychological games. He knows exactly what he is doing. At times he seems like the most relaxed driver in the whole field and just wants to accelerate. After all, we saw how he handled the pressure at Zandvoort."

Worthy champion

The Scottish former Red Bull Racing driver doesn't rule out Verstappen winning the world title this year: "They've figured out how to close the gap on Mercedes at Red Bull, so we now have a very interesting fight. Verstappen would be a worthy world champion."
