It has been a week since Daniel Ricciardo won the Italian Grand Prix. It was a great victory for the Australian, who had many problems with the McLaren car during the first half of the season.

In an interview with F1-Insider.com Team boss Andreas Seidl talks about the victory. "It has been a while since we could celebrate a victory. That's why it was also important for me. We live off these emotions. It was mega to see the energy from everyone." Ricciardo didn't stay celebrating long at the track, however. "The weekend in Monza was intense, even the evening at the track lasted quite long. Daniel went straight to bed, so I took over the party with the guys at the bar. Then we made up for the party [with Daniel] in Woking."

"For him, the win was damn important after the difficult acclimatisation", said Seidl. "He has shown in the past that he is one of the best. That's why we wanted him. I hope he gets back to his old strength. We need two strong drivers to make the jump to the top successfully."

Seidl remains realistic despite victory

Yet Seidl remains cautious after the victory at Monza. "Red Bull and Mercedes can always race for the win, we haven't yet. Although there will be chances this season, we have a realistic view. We know that the others are still ahead of us. The battle for third place against Ferrari will still be tough." Seidl is optimistic about the future though. "I am convinced that in the future we will be able to race for victory every race weekend. We are very ambitious."
