Shifts in Power Rankings after Hungarian GP

A new Grand Prix, a new Power Ranking. The six-man jury of the official Formula 1 website gave all drivers a score again based on their performance in the Hungarian Grand Prix, resulting in a number of shifts in the rankings.

Alpine on top

It will not be a surprise that Esteban Ocon gets the highest score for this Grand Prix. The young Frenchman did an almost perfect job according to the jury and gets a 9.7. It also ensures that Ocon re-enters the top ten of the Power Rankings at ninth place. His teammate Fernando Alonso also does well with a 9.2, mainly thanks to the Spaniard's superb defensive week against Lewis Hamilton. Alonso remains in eighth place in the standings.

Hamilton moves up the rankings

Hamilton managed to work his way up to third place. Due to the disqualification of Sebastian Vettel he moved to second place. The Brit took over the lead in the championship from Max Verstappen and received an 8.7 from the jury. In the Power Ranking, he rises from fourth to third place.

Verstappen just inside the top ten

For the second race in a row, Verstappen was hit by a Mercedes driver on the first lap. This time he was able to continue, but the Dutchman couldn't get any further than ninth place. "Whatever the arguments for Silverstone, there was no doubt here that the Red Bull driver was an innocent bystander in the carnage at the start in Hungary, " the judges ruled. With a 7.5, Verstappen retains his lead in the Power Rankings.

Vettel newcomer

There is also a new entrant in the rankings this week; Sebastian Vettel. Despite his disqualification, Vettel did a great job in Hungary. He kept the pressure on Ocon throughout the race and was close to his 54th win. It earned him an 8.7 from the jury and a tenth place in the standings.
