Sergio Perez finished in eighth and fifth place in today's free practice sessions. Not the result the Mexican had hoped for, because the gap to the fastest driver was almost one second both times. Yet he sounds optimistic.

“The car felt good over the longer and shorter runs today. I think there’s definitely time to be found, I was caught in some traffic during both sessions so I think there is still plenty to play for in qualifying tomorrow.", Perez said in the official press release from Red Bull Racing.

Max Verstappen was not satisfied with the balance of the car, as there was too much understeer. Perez seems a bit more optimistic.

The weather at the Hungaroring

"With the weather conditions predicted to change over the weekend, there is a bit of an unknown, it may benefit some more than others so we will have to wait and see what happens. We’ve made good steps and we have a good idea about what we need to do before qualifying to make improvements, so I am optimistic for the rest of the weekend", Perez said.

Tomorrow's qualifying will show who is actually the fastest man on track. The weather forecast for the race is dry, with rain to follow afterwards. The weather can be unpredictable at the Hungaroring though.
