McLaren is doing good business in Formula 1 this season. After a few lean years, the team has been on the podium regularly for the past two seasons. The team of Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo is currently third in the championship and in full battle with Ferrari.

Be able to continue the fight

With 163 points in the first ten races, McLaren has already scored almost as many points as in the whole of 2020 (that was 202). Ferrari are just fifteen points behind them and the battle for third place in the championship will therefore be between these two legendary Formula One teams this season.

McLaren are going full steam ahead for that third spot and are looking to step it up a notch for Hungary. "We are bringing a number of upgrades to our car to Hungary to make sure we can continue to fight," McLaren team principal Andreas Seidl told Speedweek.com. He is very happy with the current progression at McLaren. "It's great for us to be at P3 in the constructors' championship and we've made another big step forward compared to last year. So I'm very happy with that."

McLaren not surprised by strong Ferrari

After a disappointing French Grand Prix, Ferrari came back strongly in England with a second place for Charles Leclerc and a sixth-place for Carlos Sainz. Seidl says he is not surprised by Ferrari's strong return. "I am also not surprised by the steps they can make in one season because they are a strong team with two strong drivers. They also have all the resources needed to respond to problems. They have a team with the experience to respond to problems, so it's not a surprise."
