It's been a while since Nico Rosberg could be admired in a Formula 1 car. After years of rivalry with Lewis Hamilton, Rosberg finally managed to grab the world title in 2016, although it had to come from so deep that he hung up his racing gloves immediately after. Since then, he can still be admired in various forms within motorsport.

Rosberg as team boss in F1?

Rosberg can usually be found on the track as a commentator for Sky Sports and/or his own Youtube channel. He is also the team owner of Rosberg X Racing Team, which competes in the Extreme E-class, where he recently managed to beat his arch-rival again (Lewis runs the team X44).

Now that Rosberg has had a whiff of team bossing, is it a possibility that we could one day admire him as a team boss in F1? Rosberg gives at Formel1.de an answer to that question. "That doesn't appeal to me, it would be too much. It's a full-time job: mornings, afternoons, evenings, all day. When I see how intensively Toto works for the Formula 1 team, that is nothing for me, I want to avoid that in my life. I experienced that as a driver, that intensity and dependence, and I don't want that again."

Money a motivation?

Can't the former world champion be tempted with a big bag of money? Rosberg responds resolutely: "You can't motivate me with money. I have zero interest in that. I have fulfilled my career the way I wanted to, with the world title, and I am happy with my new life. So that thought never came up there, and it never will. That's over."
