June 10, 2001, marked the first time two brothers both stood on the top two steps of a Formula 1 podium together. The 2001 Canadian Grand Prix, was a thrilling affair in its own right. While it was Michael Schumacher who had managed to put his car on pole, it was his younger brother Ralf who won the race after a better-executed strategy gave the Williams driver a comfortable victory. Michael would finish in second meaning the race would be the first time two brothers would finish first and second in a Grand Prix. Fast forward six years ahead and a young driver named Lewis Hamilton, who was 22 at the time, claimed his first-ever win in F1. The British driver would proceed to add three more wins during his rookie campaign and narrowly missed out on the championship by a single point. Looking back it's safe to say that Hamilton, who many singled out at the time as a potential world champion, fulfilled some of that promise!
