Australian F1 ace Daniel Ricciardo says he would like to retract previous statements about the Paul Ricard circuit in France after enduring two arduous races around the streets of Monaco and Baku. It's fair to say Ricciardo hasn't enjoyed the best of times adapting to his new life at McLaren. The former Renault driver was lapped by his teammate Lando Norris in Monaco and crashed into the barriers during the weekend's qualifying session. The seven-time Grand Prix winner now says he is excited to return to open expanses of a more traditional street circuit. "I kind of feel like I've criticized that place [Paul Ricard] for being too open in the past but I think after Baku a few of us will be glad that we've got some runoff," Ricciardo told select members of the media including RacingNews365.com . "I'm looking forward to a triple header and some conventional tracks, ones that don't bite as much. I think I need it at the moment just to keep the rhythm and looking forward to that. "So I'm looking forward to France and I'm really looking forward to the triple-header [ the French, Styrian, and Austrian Grand Prix].
