Yuki Tsunoda will move to Italy shortly, with Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko confirming the Japanese rookie is to be taken under the wing of his team boss Franz Tost. While Tsunoda made a reasonably strong start to his Formula 1 career with a points finish in Bahrain, he has struggled for pace and form ever since, with Marko being quite critical of the Japanese driver after poor performances in Spain and Monaco. Tsunoda currently lives in the UK, and Marko has decided that a more hands-on approach is needed to try getting the best out of the promising junior driver. "We have decided to move Yuki to Italy, where he will be under the personal supervision of Franz Tost," Marko told Motorsport-Total.com. "Here he will learn to find focus and get used to the living and working schedule of a professional athlete. So lots of training, karting, and technical work in the factory to learn to read the data." Marko explained that there hasn't been a rate of development that Red Bull are happy with, forcing them to take a more controlling approach towards Tsunoda. Over the Monaco weekend, Tsunoda revealed that he felt he had set too high a bar for himself and admitted to not yet feeling in control of his car. "The development has certainly not been positive," Marko said. His self-confidence took a hit after the multiple incidents, and that's why we decided to bring him to Italy from England." "It's not only so we can control him better, but also to instil in him a stronger sense of security. His potential is still there."
