Red Bull Racing achieved the fastest pit stop of the weekend in Portugal. While Mercedes proved too fast for the Austrian team during the race, Max Verstappen's team managed to outpace their rivals in another area.

In Imola, Mercedes still managed to achieve the fastest pit stop of the weekend. Valtteri Bottas had to wait just 2.24 seconds for a new set of tyres. Red Bull Racing went well over that last weekend, according to the DHL Fastest Pitstop Award that keeps track of the top ten for each race.

Verstappen went in for a tyre change on lap 64. His team went to work at lightning speed and managed to get the Dutchman back on the track in just 1.98 seconds. At number two is Lance Stroll with his Aston Martin: he only had to wait 2.08 seconds. Carlos Sainz with Ferrari completed the top three with 2.26 seconds.

Race in Portimao

Verstappen's quick pit stop worked out well, as the Red Bull driver struggled in the race. Although he finished second in the final standings just as he did in the first two free practice sessions, he had to let Hamilton pass him in the race.
