For the first time in years, a Schumacher is back in Formula 1. With Mick Schumacher, Haas hopes to get a surprise this season, although the first two races were a bit disappointing. The driver also sees a need for improvement.

The driver with his surname does not have it easy in the sport, as all eyes are on him this season. In the opening race in Bahrain, however, he finished in last place, while in Italy he was only able to hold off teammate Nikita Mazepin. For the second time in a row, the race resulted in no points for team Haas.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport Schumacher about his connection with Italy. "I came to Italy when I was 12 years old," he begins. "I would say in general I have a good connection with Italy. I experienced some of my best moments there, like the win at Monza last year. I have so many relations with Italy, without forgetting that I know Ferrari from my childhood."

Schumacher relatively satisfied

Schumacher hopes to make progress in the coming races, starting in Portugal. "In Bahrain, apart from the first spin, I felt satisfied. Let's say for 90 percent. In Imola, it was the first time I drove a Formula One car on a wet surface. I spun there and was a bit angry with myself, also because I was in a good position at the time. But in the end, I made it to the finish line. That was my goal."
