Wolff blasts Horner and Brown: They just spread sh*t

Mercedes team princiapl Toto Wolff has lambasted McLaren CEO Zak Brown regarding his claim that George Russell will be racing for the German outfit during the 2022 F1 season.

Mercedes F1 boss Toto Wolff has criticized McLaren CEO Zak Brown for his claims regarding what the German team's driver lineup would look like in 2022. Brown who earlier said that he sees Max Verstappen and George Russell being Mercedes F1 drivers in 2022 has been castigated by Wolff, with the Austrian using some harsh language to state what he thinks of the American's views and comparing him to Red Bull's Christian Horner. "Brown is like Christian Horner," Wolff told Austrian publication oe24. "They just spread s*it. I think Zak wanted to give Christian one with it." Wolff also provided some insight into the relationship between Russell and Hamilton, refusing to quell rumours that the two have had a rift. "The condition of my pilots is the least of my worries," Wolff continued. "But I can imagine that because the competition between the two is very strong." The Austrian finally admitted that the regulation change in 2021 has hampered the performance of the W12, with Wolff admitting the lost performance is unrecoverable. "The disadvantage that we have lost with the new regulations is simply there, it cannot be restored," Wolff explained. "The point now is that we can do what we have in order to be competitive. We need to understand our car better."
