Bahrain GP to welcome select fans for F1 season-opener

As the start of the 2021 Formula 1 season draws near, it looks as though fans will be allowed to attend the Bahrain Grand Prix. However masks and social distancing will still be mandatory.

It looks as though there will be fans in attendance for the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on March 28 with news that individuals can purchase tickets for the event if they meet certain criteria. Last season saw the Bahrain International Circuit play host to two races on November 29 and December 6, however both events took place without fans in the grandstands. That looks set to change in 2021 with the circuit confirming that individuals who can either prove they've recovered from COVID-19 or have been fully vaccinated will be allowed to buy tickets and sit in the stands. A badge must be presented to show either of the conditions before entry will be allowed, though masks and social distancing will still be mandatory. “We are delighted to be able to launch our ticket sales today, once again giving fans the opportunity to witness the spectacle of F1," said circuit CEO Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa. "In November and December last year, we had the honour to host our healthcare heroes as spectators, and we are pleased this time be open for a broader group of fans, with tickets available to buy for this prestigious first race of the season.”
