Vettel at peace with final year at Ferrari

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel endured his worst year in Formula 1 in 2020. The German says he has come to terms with what transpired and is looking forward to the new season.

Sebastian Vettel says he has made his peace with how his final year at Ferrari played out as the German driver looks forward to a new beginning with Aston Martin after the team's car launch on Wednesday. Last season saw the German fail to win a race while only claiming one podium at the Turkish Grand Prix. The former Red Bull man eventually left the Italian powerhouse and will drive for Aston Martin in 2021, and Vettel admits he is keen to look ahead rather than behind. "I'm very much at peace with last year," Vettel told RacingNews365.com among others. "I know that it hasn't been to my standards that I must hold myself (accountable). I've never really cared what people think or say so that's why I think it's important that I am at peace with that myself. "I don't have any regrets. Obviously there's things that didn't go well, and things that I would have liked to go better and differently and so on. But ultimately, I'm very much looking forward to this year." Vettel highlighted how things are different at Aston Martin while also stating the things he will need to focus on in order to adapt quickly and make the most of his season. "I think so far, it's been very easy for me to integrate," Vettel continued. "But like I said, there's plenty of stuff that I need to get on top of. It's a different power unit, different controls, different labels for probably the same or similar things. "So a lot of dry stuff that I need to get on top of and obviously. So yeah, not the easiest transition."
