Lewis Hamilton has made his presence felt on the circuit this year, but the British driver has also made himself heard off-track this season. Not everyone is happy with all his statements, but Hamilton is fully behind them.

This season Hamilton has perhaps made himself heard more than ever. Certainly, his support for the Black Lives Matter movement stood out with his shirt before every Grand Prix, but also in his interviews the Mercedes driver was more open about this. Hamilton feels vulnerable as a result but is pleased to be able to fulfil that role.

Hamilton feels vulnerable

''I think I am beginning to discover things that will be part of my future. Look, I've been racing since I was eight years old. So I will always be a racer at heart, even if I stop. But I think I've really tried to show a vulnerable side, to show that it's okay to show that side. People can see that I'm even a human being,'' says Hamilton in conversation with Motorsport.com.

''I want to be thankful for every day I get. We often forget to take a moment for ourselves, that's what I do with meditation now. I love this planet. There is so much beauty around us. I want to help and have a positive influence. Racing is all fun, but there are many problems and things to tackle. There are a lot of great people who are committed to that and I want to help them. That's my goal," the Brit concludes.
