Lewis Hamilton expressed his displeasure at the anti-racism debate that has been raging around the world for the past month. F1 launched the #WeRaceAsOne initiative. Lando Norris supports Hamilton's views and discusses why the drivers should make a gesture.

Racefans.net reports that Lando Norris has indicated that there is a good chance that the F1 drivers will take a knee this weekend to show their support for the Black Lives Matter initiative against racism. Norris has told The Press that there will be talks with all drivers about this idea on Friday.

"Several drivers have already talked about taking a knee. If we're going to do that, I think it's wise that we do it together as one grid."

Norris demands respect for everyone

Taking a knee and holding up a fist has become an international symbol of the fight against racism faced by black populations all over the world. Norris goes on to say: "We will do everything we can to show that we care and that we respect everyone. We will do the right thing when the time comes."

The McLaren driver continues: "Of course I always want to do better than any other driver, but everyone should have the same opportunities and be treated the same. It is simply not fair that people are treated differently because of their race. This sport reaches millions of people, so the more we do, the bigger the impact is".
