Ocon and his unusual hobby: "It's my second passion!"

In this long period without Formula 1, drivers are finding different ways to kill time, but Esteban Ocon has a rather unusual passion, he revealed in his inaugural column on Formula1.com.

The Frenchman shared that his 'second passion' besides racing is building and racing radio-controlled cars. Besides his training and the time he spends on racing simulators, he frequently works on his RC car collection.

"Anything with an engine and fuel and I’m down!" the 23-year-old Frenchman said about his passion.

"I’ve been spending some time doing that, putting new tyres on and going flat out! That’s always nice.

"It’s a lot of fun creating your own courses with some cones and pushing these machines. I don’t really like fixing them, but you need to do it to make sure there are no problems when you run. It’s a bit like a racing car, each time you run it needs maintenance and that’s the only way you don’t have problems."

The former Formula 3 champion concludes his first column by saying that he continues to train hard "like there is a race tomorrow" and that this is the best way to stay motivated.
