Albon doesn't get distracted by Verstappen: "I focus on myself"

Pierre Gasly found himself stuck in Max Verstappen's shadow at Aston Martin Red Bull Racing. Alexander Albon dealt with the situation slightly better, but now he has a full season ahead of him. However, the British-Thai driver isn't getting too distracted by Verstappen.

After three days of testing, Red Bull Racing teammate Verstappen was four-tenths faster than Albon, but the Dutchman recorded that faster time on a softer compound. The 23-year-old driver is not at all concerned with it, he tells Motorsport-Total.com.

"The point now is that I concentrate on myself," Albon says with the German medium.

Less than six months ago, Albon was transferred to Red Bull during the summer break. It is, therefore, the first time that the talented driver has completed preparation in full with the Austrian team.

"Of course, we've only spent five or six months together so far, we're still learning from each other. We have been able to use this time in the winter to get together and see what performance I want more feedback on," he added.

"During the year you are constantly on the asphalt. So it is good to take some more time to relax and talk about goals," he concludes.
