Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc are two World Champions in waiting but Gerhard Berger believes the pair are "fundamentally different". The Austrian has compared the two driver's style and approach.

Verstappen was in many people's opinion the driver of the season as he won three races and secured a maiden pole position, in his best season in Formula 1. Leclerc meanwhile also had a standout season, as his debut year at Ferrari saw him claim two wins and he even beat his teammate in the drivers' standings.

Despite being two young drivers with huge amounts of talent and potential, Berger believes their styles are very different.

"They are fundamentally different," Berger told Auto, Motor und Sport.

"Verstappen is more aggressive and unpredictable. He is apolitical, he says what he thinks and everyone can hear that. He drives the same way.

"However, Leclerc gives more the impression that he is calmer and more deliberate driver. He is more calculating and more political.

"They have a completely different approach, but they can be at the same level in terms of their ability," he added.
