Happy 21st birthday to Racing Point driver Lance Stroll! It's amazing how he's only just turned 21, it feels like he's been in the sport for ages! 2019 is the Canadian's third year in F1 and he's had some great moments in his short but eventful career to date.

Debut aged 18 for Williams

Stroll became the second youngest driver of all time to make his debut in F1 when he lined up in last for the 2017 Australian Grand Prix following a gearbox change. It was not the dream debut for Stroll, who retired from the race with brake issues on lap 40. He actually failed to finish in his first three races, with a collisions ending his hopes in China and Bahrain.

Podium delight in Baku

After picking up his first points in the previous race in Canada, Stroll picked up an unlikely podium finish in Azerbaijan, taking advantage of all the chaos to come home in third place. It could have been second, but he was pipped on the line by the Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas. In a ridiculous race, Stroll showed a mature drive to become the second youngest driver to stand on the podium, behind Max Verstappen of course.

A front row start in Monza

Following three scoreless races, Stroll came into the Italian GP needing a good result, and a front row start is more than what he would have been hoping for. Taking advantage of a rainy session, he finished fourth in Q3, but penalties promoted him to second. Whilst he couldn't hold on for another podium finish, P7 was a good result.

Move to Racing Point

Following a disappointing 2018, Stroll made the move to Racing Point, replacing Esteban Ocon. The move was criticised at the time and Stroll has struggled to keep up with the much more experienced Sergio Perez, although a P4 finish in Germany again showed his ability to keep cool in a crazy race!

At just 21, it's easy to forget just how young Stroll is. He's had a pretty decent career to date, and we're looking forward to seeing how far he can go. What sort of career do you think Stroll could have? Let us know by voting below and commenting!
