McLaren driver Lando Norris has acknowledged the battle for fourth-place in the Constructors' Championship "is not wrapped up yet" as he prepares to respond from a disappointing weekend at the Mexican Grand Prix.

Norris was on the receiving end of some back luck, not for the first time this season, when one of his tyres was not screwed on properly and he spent way over a minute in the pits - sacrificing his race essentially - and retired later on in the Grand Prix.

The 19-year-old is looking to put the race in Mexico behind him and prepare for "one of his favourite circuits" at the Circuit of the Americas.

"I'm looking forward to putting Mexico behind me and focusing on the next face," the McLaren star said. "COTA is one of my favourite circuits and I've been working hard to prepare for the weekend.

"Having taken part in FP1 last year, it's not a completely new track to me, so I know I'll be able to hit the ground running on Friday."

Currently, McLaren sit in fourth-place, boasting the "Best of the Rest" status on 111 points, and Renault are 38 points behind their rivals in seventh-place, but Norris doesn't think fourth-place has been decided just yet.

"We know that the battle for fourth-place isn't quite wrapped up yet, so we'll be pushing hard to maximise our championship position in Austin."
