Horner: "No one will be completely satisfied with the new rules"

The deadline for the 2021 rules and regulation overhaul is approaching fast. These negotiations have been linked to Brexit on a number of occasions and coincidently, we'll hear the final set of rules and regulations for 2021 on 31st October. Scary stuff.

Cyril Abiteboul, boss of Renault, points out that the fact that the deadline has moved a number of times already and it'll be bad if there's' further delay as the teams need the time to prepare.

"We have to move forward as Formula 1, so we can no longer stretch it. If we are going to stretch it now, then the sport will be endangered and nothing will be thwarted anymore. Everyone must now use common sense, because then we will get further," Abiteboul tells Motorsport.com.

The deadline may cause doubts about the future of Formula 1, but Christian Horner thinks it will help.

"It's just the same as with the Brexit because you have to be sharp now. No one will be satisfied at the end, but you will get that if you make compromises," says Horner. With two weeks to go, the pressure is certainly high at Liberty Media.
