George Russell came seconds away from reaching Q2 at the Hungarian Grand Prix and the Brit is looking forward to continuing the momentum he built up there. However, he's well aware of the struggles he faces on a circuit that won't favour his setup.

Russell had his best qualifying performance this season in Hungary as he just missed out on the final Q2 spot having been as high as ninth just second before the end of the opening session. It was signs of progress for Williams who have struggled all season with various issues and it further increased the Brit's profile as a potential star of the sport.

With the racing back this weekend at Spa, Russell is aware he faces a difficult challenge on a circuit that doesn't favour their car but is glad to be back on the track after the summer break.

"The holidays have been great, but I have missed racing. To have the Belgian Grand Prix as our first race after the summer break is exciting, as it’s a circuit I love driving," Russell said in Williams' preview.

"After a positive weekend in Hungary, we hope to maintain that improvement. We know that the circuit characteristics do not necessarily suit our car, but we’ll have to wait and see."
