Kvyat: "I didn't have many expectations for today"

Daniil Kvyat has expressed his satisfaction with his race at the British Grand Prix after he finished ninth at Silverstone.

The Russian started 17th on the grid for the iconic race but drove a fantastic race to finish inside the points. The result means Kvyat moves onto 12 points for the season, five ahead of his teammate Alex Albon and once again he has shown his improved maturity and composure that has been criticised in his previous spells in F1.

After the race, Kvyat revealed his satisfaction with how much he is getting out of the Toro Rosso car.

“I’m very happy with the race today," Kvyat said.

"To be honest, I didn’t have too many expectations today starting from the back of the grid, all weekend I didn’t really get into the rhythm and I was struggling a bit with the balance, but when it mattered most today I managed to extract everything from the car."

Kvyat and Toro Rosso have struggled in recent weeks, failing to score points at the last two races. However after bouncing back at Silverstone, Kvyat is a relieved man.

"It’s good to get two more points on the board and it was important to bounce back after the past couple of races.”
